Buoyed by the demand for Indian handicrafts and artisan goods, the Central Cottage Industries Corporation of India (CCIC) opened its third emporium in BDA Complex, HSR Layout, on December 15.
The sprawling emporium will meet the requirements of local residents from Koramangala, BTM Layout and adjoining township. Branded as 'Cottage', the showroom is offering some of the unique handicrafts of India. The product range includes exquisite handicrafts and handlooms, sarees and dress materials, shawls and scarves, home furniture décor, home and office furnishings, pottery and stone crafts, jute products, papier-mâché, leather, wood and metal crafts, carpets and durries, attractive gift items and corporate gifts.
The Cottage store at HSR Layout was inaugurated by Mrs. Rita Menon, Secretary, Textiles, Government of India, in the presence of artisans, VIPs and celebrities. She said, "The world-famous 'Cottage' brand is India's window to the world for authentic handloom and handicrafts. 'Cottage' has emerged as the largest emporium in the country, engaged in the marketing of unique quality handicraft and handloom products in India and abroad."
In Bangalore, CCIC operates stores on M G Road and Safina Plaza, Infantry Road.
