On the occasion of Rathasapthami (January 29), about 600 people did 'Suryanamaskaras' with great enthusiasm. This event was organised by the Satsanga Foundation of HBR Layout in the premises of CMR National Public School, Behind Jal Vayu Vihar (JVV). The "Suryanamaskara' and 'Suryayagna' are conducted every year by the foundation, besides releasing of 'Pachanga' (calendar) on the occasion of Ugadi.
The participants included women, men and children. The event started at 6:30 am and came to an end at 8:30 am. Participants were given "prasadams" in the form of milk and "upma".
All the participants were told prior to the event to bring a mat (Jamkhana) and follow the dress code strictly. While men wore white pyjamas and kurtas, women wore white chudidars. "This is the sixth time we have organised 'Suryanamaskaras' and like every year, even this time the response from the people has been really good," said Dr. Shyam Prasad, organiser of the event.
