Biospheres, an NGO, is working with the aim of conserving biodiversity for human welfare through research, advocacy and capacity building. While celebrating the decade on Biodiversity (2011-2020), globally, Biospheres had organised 'Wild-fest' in the city at Bharatratna Pandit Bhimsen Joshi Kala Dalan in Sahakar Nagar. A photo exhibition on the theme 'Biodiversity of hotspots in India' conceptualised and photographed by Dr. Sachin A was organised. The exhibition sensitised and educated common man as well as research enthusiasts, highlighted the rich biodiversity of Western Ghats and Eastern Himalayas, two internationally recognised hotspots of our country. Exhibition had displayed over 300 colour photographs depicting the dwindling biodiversity, pristine habitats, RET (Rare, Endangered and Threatened) species of plants and animals, their intricate interactions and threats to the existing biodiversity to name a few.
