Feeling of patriotism could be seen all over at Central Park, Pocket 3 Mayur Vihar-I during Republic Day celebrations, where a large number of residents gathered, to witness flag hoisting ceremony.
MLA Sunil Vaid, councillor Dr HS Kashyap and OP Sehgal, a member of state council for senior citizens, Government of NCT, Delhi were the chief guests. They were honoured by Pocket 3 president Jeet Kumar and other members.
More than 150 people joined the celebration. Senior citizens above 75 years of age and members of the association, who have crossed 65 years of age, were presented shawls. Activities such as drawing competition, race, musical chair, lime and spoon race and memory game rejuvenated the residents. Around 40 prizes were awarded to the winners of various competitions. Sweets and kachoris were distributed to all. "Like every year, a large number of people participated in the events. National Anthem sung by all was really mesmerising," said Jeet Kumar, president, RWA.
