Sri Balavinayaka Sangha (Teachers' Colony) and Sri Vinayaka Geleyara Balaga (Kacharakanahalli) organized a blood donation camp on January 26 in memory of freedom fighters at Ayurveda Kutiram, HBR Layout, 2nd Block. The event was inaugurated by HBR Layout Corporator, Ward No.24, B. Govindaraju.
Around 150 people attended the camp, which was held in association with the Lions Club of Bangalore Birds Paradise, of which 108 people donated blood. CS Narayan Rao, a senior freedom fighter hailing from Chikkanayakanahalli, Tumkur district, presided over the function.
"The response from the people was amazing and the programme was a grand success. In all, 108 units of blood were collected. We thank all the people for the great support extended," said Pradeep P, one of the organizers.
