The Fernhill Gardens Apartments Owners Association organised a Christmas carnival for
the residents on December 17. The programme began with the lighting of the "Kuthu Vilakku" (lamp) which was followed by the prayer. 
The president and the secretary presided over the function. Prizes were distributed for the winners of the carom and tennis competition. The children sang Christmas carols. The highlight of the evening was the magic show which all the kids enjoyed. There was a lucky dip competition which was followed by the musical night where Shankar Seasons group performed.
Food stalls were a major hit. About 15 food stalls were put up ranging from Chinese, dosa, burger, Kerala appams, kebabs, chaat and cakes. Most of the stalls served home- made food prepared by the residents themselves. Some of the residents had also put up stalls selling shawls and winter wear. More than 300 residents participated.
