Residents of Vasant Vihar Housing society at Ghodbunder Road have set a shining example for others to follow. On December 25, they came together to clean their vicinity. Armed with loads of determination as well as sticks, hand gloves and sacks, they changed the face of their society, literally!
Instead of depending on Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC), the residents decided to take matter into their hands. K Kumar, secretary, says,  "We aim for an environmentally-sound sustainable housing complex. Our motive was to encourage people to keep their surroundings clean and free of non-degradable substances."
Kumar adds that this will improve the quality of urban life. He concludes, "Green goal is not a choice but it is our responsibility."
