The Mahindra Academy in Malad East is known for its colourful and enthusiastic
celebrations on national days. They continued that tradition this Republic Day too, and enthralled the audiences with their wonderful performances. Vinod Parkar, the head of Mahindra SAP, was the chief guest for the day. He told the students to not just keep up with our Indian traditions, but also encouraged certain other values in them. Parkar said, “We need to respect individuals for who they are. We must realise that each of us have a different background and its only when all of us come together, we make a society and a nation. We need to accept each others negativity and highlight the positivities to make this world a better place to live in.”
The day started with the flag hoisting, followed by various cultural programmes like the lezim dance, karate and yoga demonstrations. But the highlight of the day was the tablo, where students enthralled the audiences with a cultural theme, based on the values of the Indian society. Certain disciplines like punctuality,
scientific temper and politeness were highlighted. The students also portrayed the various Indian communities and focused on the unity in them.
