The crowd at Prasad's IMAX Theatre, was taken by surprise as they experienced 'Smart Mob', Hyderabadi version of a Flash mob. Actors, social workers, doctors and hundreds of volunteers participated in the 'Smart Mob', organized to spread awareness about cancer.
Several doctors and nurses from Apollo Cancer Hospital, fitness trainer Dinaz Vervatwala and her group participated in the 'Smart Mob', along with former 'Mrs. India' winner, Shilpa Reddy and actor Navdeep.
"We opted for organizing the 'Smart Mob', as it is a unique way to attract attention of people to spread awareness on cancer. This theatre complex is always flooded with people from across Andhra Pradesh and was thus found to be an appropriate venue to organize the 'Smart Mob', said Dr Anand Reddy, Director, Apollo Cancer Hospital, Hyderabad.
Anand, a movie buff, said, "It is great to see a flash mob sort of a thing here in Hyderabad, being specially used for cancer awareness. I and my friends were surprised to see the act, as for a moment I thought I was in New York. It was surreal."
Pamphlets with information about early symptoms of cancer and ways of prevention were also distributed on the occasion.
