It was a fun filled day for special kids of Billabong High International School, Noida as a Young Athlete workshop was organised at the school recently. The event was a joint initiative of Sanchetna, an organisation that specialises in working for children with special needs and the school itself. The workshop was conducted by Special Olympics Bharat.
Billabong High International School principal Dimple Anil said, "The workshop was held to introduce the children with special needs, aged two-and-a-half years to seven, to physical activities that help children develop basic motor skills and eye-hand coordination."
The aim of this event was to prepare these children for competitions of Special Olympics by the age of eight. Special Olympics Bharat conducts competitions right from inter school level to national level, across the country, to identify athletes with potential.
