Greenwood High wins interschool chess tournament

Greenwood High International School Girls Team won the ARA Memorial Inter School Chess Tournament organised by the Little Flower Public School on their school campus recently. A total of 42 schools from the city took part in this event, out of which the Greenwood High girls' team emerged as the winners.
Apart from the girls' chess title, the Greenwood High students also won 7 individual prizes in different categories. The individual prize winners are Svatejas Shivakumar, Anjali Parthasarathy, Keerthi Chitta, Trisha C Reddy, Ram Vishwanathan, Aditi Shete and Maya Miriam Eapen.
Greenwood High Boys team secured second position in Boys Category of the same tournament.

Reetish Padhi gets FIDE ranking
Reetish Padhi (Grade 5C) of Greenwood High has got an FIDE rating of 1352 in International Rating List of the International Chess Federation (FIDE). He is the first student of Greenwood High International School to get FIDE rating. The FIDE (Fédération Internationale des Échecs) or World Chess Federation is the international organisation that connects the various national chess federations around the world and is the governing body of international chess competition. The FIDE ranks active chess players using the Elo ratings system.
