The Punjabi Samaj Sabha celebrated Lohri with much fanfare and gaiety at the Community Centre, Sector 29. The programme mainly focused to create social harmony among the residents and feeling of affinity.
The residents sang Lohri Song 'Dulha Bhatti vala', while they put peanuts, revadi, popcorn etc, into the holy fire. During the occasion mayor Ashok Arora explained the importance of the festival through the story of Dulha Bhatti and urged people to live in peace and harmony. And how can a Punjabi fanfare end up without the rustic Punjabi flavours. All the people present at the galore enjoyed the Sarso ka saag with makke ki roti and gur.
Ashok Baniyal, president of the Punjabi Sabha ended the occasion with hearty wishes of wellness and progress for everyone.

The members of Punjabi Mahashakti Manch gathered at the Punjabi Dharamshala to celebrate Lohri. The chief guests on the occasion were SP Palwal and Anil Dhawan. State president of the manch, Harish Chandra Azad was the convenor of the programme and ensured that all the arrangements were perfect. General secretary Virendra Pandit, treasurer Mohan Lal Tikiya and other members including Anil Grover, Ajay Pratap Singh and Ashok Sardhana were present at the programme.
