Old age home celebrates Diwali with Umang

In order to bring smiles, members of Umang foundation, comprising members from Kandivali and Borivali visited an old age home Kishan Gopal Raiparya Vanpratap Ashram located at Bhayandar.
The members of the foundation decorated the ashram with diyas, distributed sweets and spent their entire day lighting crackers and entertaining the 60 residents of the ashram.
Describing the event Ashish Goyal, founder, Umang foundation says, “We all our fortunate that we have our families and friends to celebrate this festive occasion. But celebrating this festival with those from the old age home was a different experience. It was heart warming to see their smiles.”
A resident of the ashram while speaking to Goyal says, “I was not even aware that Diwali has come. It’s only after all these celebrations that I have come to know about the festival.”
“This is our best diwali. I can never forget these celebrations at ashram this year,” says the manager.
Umang is an organisation involved in various causes like education, health and empowerment of the old and poor.
