A puppet show and workshop by renowned small screen puppeteers, Sangya Ojha and Hashim Haider, was organised at Treasure House in Jubilee Hills, recently.
The puppet show called 'Gali Gali Sim Sim' is the Hindi version of Sesame Street, New York. Sangya and Hashim have been puppeteers for this show on popular Indian cartoon channels, since its inception. Sangya played Anchoo and Elmo - the famous international muppet characters, whereas, Hashim played the famous Bollywood Dude and an array of other characters, in the show.
After creating waves with their uniquely entertaining and educating puppet shows and workshops all around India, the puppeteers were in Hyderabad for the very first time! With two shows, one at Treasure House and other at Saptaparni, they enthralled the Hyderabadi audience with their unique muppets.
The kids loved the interactive show which was filled with witty snippets and lovely music. The way parents participated in the 'Rhyme' game with the muppets, showed that the endeavour captured the hearts of not just the little ones but the grownups too.
The workshop conducted after the show was a good learning experience, as well. The participants not only got to make puppets, but they were even taught the nuances of how a puppeteer should manipulate their hand movements and modulate their voices.
Sangya and Hashim kept the participants entertained all through the day using a judicious mix of the wholesome art of puppetry, singing and acting as well as fun and games.
