Saakar Aakar conducted its maiden arts exhibition recently at the Community Hall in Raheja Residency. The response was beyond belief. The unbridled support of the visitors boosted the morale of the budding artists of Saakar Aakar. The jam-packed Community Hall was a reflection of the efforts as well as the community's interest in the art work created and sold by the children of Saakar Aakar.
Bindish S, vice president of Axis Bank, opened the event by lighting the lamp. The chief guest was Roopa Venkatesh, who spoke to the gathering on awareness through art.
There were more than 300 paintings on display. The children had made copies of their original paintings and these were lapped up by the visitors. The visitors gave rave reviews of the event and the items on display. Besides this, the event gave a platform to the budding artists and was a good exposure to the world of art.
"Saakar Aakar in the coming days promises to make the next exhibition in Dec 2012 a much bigger event," said Sarika Ruia, founder of Saakar Aakar.
