The Samskruthi Ladies' Association based in Koramangala celebrated its 12th annual day with a host of cultural activities, apart from presenting the annual report, at Gnana Mandira in Koramangala 5th Block last week.
The highlight of the evening was the distribution of prizes to the winners of various competitions by the chief guest Dr Sita Bhatija.
Two toppers of SSLC of Francescan Convent were given cash prizes and books were donated to their library. Children of YWCA day care centre were given tricycles, counting beads and mats to sit on.
Later the members of Samskruthi Ladies' Association also put up a colourful cultural programme.
Samskruthi was conceptualized and launched in the year 2000 by a few like-minded women. This organisation is a platform for socially like-minded people to interact and also to help the less fortunate and the less privileged. Today it has over 150 members
Samskruthi has conducted blood donation camps, met educational requirements of school going children. Through the years this organisation has been a melting pot for progressive women and had demonstrations, competitions, talks on cookery, beauty, health, hairstyles, flower arrangements, medicine, law, alternate medicine, self grooming, yoga and counseling. Funds are raised and contributions are made to blind schools and other needy causes. Interesting demonstrations by experts, talks by professionals are periodically held. Three years ago the association brought out a cook book containing tried and tested recipes by the members which sells like hot cake even today.
