To bring down the soaring noise pollution in Gurgaon, an awareness campaign by an NGO was conducted recently at Shanker Chowk. To begin with the campaign, the volunteers of the NGO along with the members of a horn manufacturing company, gathered and distributed pamphlets to commuters during peak hours.
More than 50 volunteers spread the awareness regarding honking to vehicles owners and also educated people of its adverse effects on environment and people like severe headache, high blood pressure and hearing impairment. 
A volunteer Sudhir Yadav said, "We need Gurgaoniites' support to cease the noise pollution. The current situation convinced me to educate people against honking."
