The much-awaited House Meeting of Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) ended in a fiasco amid ear splitting hullabaloo with no discussions held on agenda. To one's surprise, not a single decision was taken with respect to the development in the city.
Irked MCG Commissioner Sudhir Rajpal walked out of the conference hall midway. Later, Mayor Vimal Yadav clarified that the commissioner had informed him before leaving the House, as he had to rush for another meeting.
Vimal Yadav and his deputies tried hard to pacify the agitated councillors but majority of them didn't turn up. Eventually mere eight councillors were left till evening hence no resolution could be passed.
"From the next meeting onwards, each councillor will be given only five minutes to speak on agenda and they will have to submit the brief a couple of days prior to the meeting. No further issues shall be entertained," said Mayor Yadav.
The day-long House witnessed pin-drop silence when the issue of granting them a laptop with free internet connection was put forth. But that too could not yield fruitful results to continue the discussion.
"The hunt has begun to find out an appropriate place to hold next meeting peacefully. It is expected that the discussion on development works and its progress will be done in the next House, no other debate will take place," added Yadav.
