The Vivek School in Goregaon celebrated their golden jubilee year on January 31 in the school premises. They organised a three day event named Smrutifest, wherein the Vivians organised various colourful events and competitions. Although they did not participate themselves in the competition, the student volunteers did a wonderful job in organising the various events. Some of the events that were organised included a rangoli competition, a fancy dress competition, kavi sammelan, and games like carrom and chess, wherein some eight-ten schools all across Goregaon participated.
 Biji Fadia, the Assistant Head Mistress of the School said, "Established in 1961, we started off with some 100 students and just two classrooms. Today we have at least 2,000 odd students, four floor structures and a big playground. We are very happy and proud to have come such a long way."
