Mud therapy is one of the simplest and most effective options among all the available alternative treatment options.
MUD THERAPY
Naturopathy is a drugless, non-invasive, rational and evidence-based system of medicine imparting treatments with natural elements based on the theory of vitality, theory of toxemia, theory of self healing capacity of the body and the principles of healthy living.
Mud therapy is applied through usage of cold and hot water for the purpose of regulating blood circulation. Alternatively using hot and cold water helps one concentrate the blood flow to one particular region.
Mud therapy is also done as per the specific demands of an individual, wherein a particular area of the body can be focused on to bring out relief to the patient. "We do the mud therapy to increase the blood circulation. Hot water mud therapy is done for direct increase of blood circulation," says Dr Babu Joseph, director, National Institute of Naturopathy.
"Normal naturopathy treatment is capable of adding great medicinal value to hair. It is also beneficial for curing health-related aliments like acidity," says Vaidehi Suryavanshi, a naturopathy enthusiast. "After using mud therapy, I could easily regain the glow and smoothness in my skin, which eventually helped me reclaim my confidence as an individual," reveals Moushmi Ghosh, an exponent of the therapy.
POINTS TO REMEMBER:
• The mud used during the therapy should be clean and free of solid, potentially injurious particles.
• It should be typically extracted from at least four feet under the ground.
