In a world where the youth is shorn of forms for expression in spite of being inundated by media, Aneri Chouhan, an 8th standard student of St Mary's School, has chosen to tread a path less traversed.
She has recently won the school-organized elocution competition for the third year running. She has been studying the communication skills modules offered by Trinity School, London, since 4th standard. Her focus on career goals at such a young age is indeed commendable.
Commendable performance
Ever since she was in 4th standard, she has been participating in extempore competition and has always trumped in all forms of elocution within and outside her school. She has also been learning the basic tools of communication skills through which, she seeks to improve her body language and public-speaking skills as well. She has managed all of this, all the while appearing for the Trinity College London competitions of communication skills throughout. Aneri wants to top all the eight levels that the exams are held at, and is planning her future in communication studies. "I want to explore more in life; that is the reason I am doing communication skills training. It has helped me enhance my personality and develop myself from within and help me to make a better individual," says Aneri.
A bright student
"She is a very bright student! It is really amazing to see the way she is picking up the things so fast. She is leading by example I want all my students to follow her. I am very proud of her," says Sunita tutor of Aneri. Kamini Chauhan, Aneri's mother, quips, "She makes me proud. Her consistent performances are good examples for her younger brother, who tries to match her. I hope she gets what she expects in future competitions."
