Colour Therapy is a complementary therapy which offers holistic relief to the patient.
It is not the principal healing component but it heals the patient through the vibration of the colour! Colour is simply light of varying wavelengths, thus each colour has its own particular wavelength and energy.
Amisha Mehta, colour therapy expert and also an artist, says, "Colour therapy actually makes a person feel calm. It works on the psychological and physical elements of a person. Colour is absorbed by the eyes, skin, skull our 'magnetic energy field' or aura. The energy of colour affects us on all levels, that is to say, physical, spiritual and emotional. Every cell in the body needs light energy - thus colour energy has widespread effects on the whole body. There are many different ways of applying the theory, including solarised water, light boxes/lamps with colour filters, colour silks and hands-on healing using colour."
She further adds, "On a physical level however, there are deeper issues surrounding colours, which work on psychological and spiritual levels. Our wellbeing is not, of course, purely a physical issue. Fortunately, many more practitioners, both orthodox and complementary, are now treating patients in a holistic manner. That is to say, we are body, mind and spirit, all put together; none of these areas function entirely alone; each has an effect upon the other. This is why Colour Therapy can be so helpful, since colour addresses all levels of our being."
Different colours carry their own, varied meanings and vibrations and thus need to be treated accordingly. Amisha Mehta, being an artist by profession, uses a large range of colours by mixing them. The results of the therapy depend on the subjective and receptive capability of the patient. Your optimism will have a direct impact on the results you get!
