Sevasadan English Medium School not only became a second home for students during a three-day project show but also a fair-like event for the residents of the vicinity who thronged the place.

The atmosphere was charged with students, teachers and parents exchanging knowledge, ideas and information through the three-day event. On the first day, a programme titled 'Rising stars' catering to nursery section took place, followed by a show titled 'Reflections of the ignited minds' by primary school of class I to IV while on third day, programme by secondary school of class V to X shared the title with primary school. The programme displayed unity of parents, teachers and students, every evening, when the programme catering to three different levels took place.
The school premises wore looks similar to that of a fair as the event was scaled at very huge extent. Even the residents in the vicinity thronged to place. "Both gathering and project show has its own limitations. This event, though, had a tinge of gathering had power to touch the diverse spheres of astrology and astronomy to poetry recitation and dramatisation of history, besides school curriculum," informed Radhika Ogale, School Principal.
KG students celebrated 'grandfather-grandmother day'. They performed a show 'Seven sisters of India' depicting the traditional culture, dresses and ornaments related to the seven states.
The subjects other than their curriculum demanded lot of research work from the students, which indirectly broaden their perspectives. The spectators were busy getting their knowledge domain refreshed while the students were describing them about their project. It was splendid project done in working models, 3-D models and Power-Point presentations on non-conventional energy sources.
At times it was fun watching the viewers' eagerly waiting in an open space to witness 15-min duration short stage shows like powada singing (Valiant songs), excerpts from Shakespeare's literature, Oath of Swaraj, Bharuda singing (teachings of Sant Eknath) and Indian Freedom Struggle. The projects were categorised under the heading Dramatisation of History, tableaux and poem singing programmes.
The school prepared three sets of students to stage the shows in loops to avoid any extra burden on them. At the stalls, the students were seen informing with confidence in their tone, on subject they selected for the project. They too worked in rotations that gave respite to them and also to include maximum possible students in the activity. In the porch of school-building, few students draped in traditional Indian attire were telling on how silk is produced and about the lifestyle of Indian aborigines. The girls wearing traditional nine-yard sarees demonstrated forgotten games like ganjifa (cards) and saagargote (a game of throwing and catching seeds of a typical plant).
The stalls covered all social, cultural and environment related topics like table manners, Vedic puzzles, Mathematics, Geography, eradication of superstitions, poem recitation on Rani Jhansi, Trigonometry, Bridge building, Electric appliances, cell structure, formation of soil, art, craft and gourmet recipes.
Special attractions were interactive language and Math games, puzzle mania, flashback to your childhood, bhondu babas exposed by Science, mehendi, What's your Rashi?, enter the cell world and Warli painting event.
"The project work was done in the classes for which the preparation was going on since past two months. Seldom parents help was welcome; the credit has been mentioned at the stalls. The show was eco-friendly as no thermocol was used at all and less use of paper, thrust was on recycled material," told Suniti Rampure, Primary Section supervisor. In all 172 stalls containing 36 stalls for nursery section, 68 stalls for primary and 68 stalls of secondary section were involved. There were additional stage shows and demos outside the stall area.
