This  Valentine’s not only girls but guys too are going for cosmetic surgeries to enhance their beauty.

Welcome February: The month of love. It’s that time of the year when a guy and a girl go to any length to impress their partner. This season saw many young couples going in either for cosmetic procedures or beauty treatments to surprise their partners.

Cosmetic treatments
Medical facials, hair loss treatments, hair reduction treatments are popular during Valentine's Day. Dr Chiranjiv Chhabra, a dermatologist said, "Each year around three days prior to Valentine's Day many from teens to mid 40s come for cosmetic procedures. These range from botox to remove lines, wrinkles and shape eyebrows."
Cosmetic physician Dr Deepti Dhillion said, "Hair loss is a common phenomenon experienced by men therefore these are popular treatments amongst them. Women prefer going for medical facial, hair removal or reduction treatments. The minimally invasive procedures like botox injection and dermal fillers like juvederm to remove wrinkles and lines are also popular these days." It takes 15 minutes to half an hour to get the cosmetic surgery done.
Arpit Kapoor, a 26-year-old who has got nasolabial folds said, "It just took me half an hour to get this cosmetic surgery done. I got nasolabial folds done and this has improved my smile and has removed lines that occurred due to the smile. The treatment will be affective for 18 months."
Twenty-four-year-old Ramya Aggarwal also underwent cosmetic surgery. The young girl got juvederm done and this has given a good pout to her lips. She says, "Earlier my boyfriend used to compliment other girls, so I thought I will give him a surprise this Valentine's Day, hence got the pouting of my lips done. The procedure took just 15 minutes and there was no pain or swelling. It was done for `35,000."
Other than these surgeries there are beauty treatments also that cost less and give an instant glow to the face. Dr Seema Malik said, "There are various facials that make skin smooth and glowing. AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) facials help improve skin texture and tighten pores. Microderma abrasion is another skin polishing for those who have dull, hard and dead skin. Galvanic facial is a hi-tech skin treatment where electrodes help altering the dry or oily skin conditions to normal. Then there are photo facials to eliminate skin infection and allergies, wrinkles, flaccid skin, hyper-pigmentation spots etc. It can also be used to treat sun damage and weathered areas on the neck, arm’s etc."
Though gaining immense popularity, some of these treatments can have prolonged side effects. It is advised to go to a certified practitioner. It helps to check the antecedents of the person online before going under the knife.

Precautionary measures
• Don’t touch the area for two to three hours after the treatment.
• The patient should remain upright for two to three hours.
• The patients should not do any vigorous activities for two weeks after the procedure.

Money spent
People do not mind spending from `15,000 to `25,000 or more depending upon the kind of cosmetic procedure they go for.
