Visit road No. 57 which leads to F Block Mandir Marg and all you would find is chaos.
Troubled residents have now got used to several problems persistent in the area. Call it due to irregular planning or encroachment, pedestrians are forced to walk on roads endangering their lives.
Many shops like grocery stores, chemists, etc., and other commercial activities are run in the area. Priya Singh, a commuter said, “The road has now turned into a parking lot. The main reason for chaos is poor planning.”
The road is regarded as traffic bottleneck by many. Jatin Dewan, a shopkeeper at this stretch said, “Mornings and evenings are chaotic. There is a very little space for vehicles forget the pedestrians. This stretch is very dangerous for kids.”
The residents have approached the authorities like MP Sandeep Dixit, councillors and many others many a time but to no avail.
BS Vohra, a resident of Krishna Nagar said, “Passing this stretch takes a lot of time every day. Ambulances also get stuck in jam here and passing of a fire brigade is nearly impossible. The way out is widening of the road and deployment of more traffic officials.”
Residents also say that the people who want to go to Lal Quarter market for shopping also park their car which adds to this problem. Traffic Inspector Virender Singh said, "I have recently joined here. I will look into the problems of the area soon."
