Gone are the days when people would have to run around the babu's office for their domicile certificates. It was a tedious job for students and parents to get the certificates. In a bid to make procedures easy, the district collectorate has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the postal department to get the certificates home delivered by Speed Post.
Domicile, caste and other information is very necessary to take admission in any of the school or colleges. They are also demanded when an individual joins any organization.
When asked Anil Pawar resident deputy collector said, "Special camps will be held in prominent schools wherein the collectorate staff will gather all details and documents from students to issue the domicile certificates. The camps will be held on weekends in April and May. A group of 10-15 schools will be covered every weekend, with the largest school in the area acting as the makeshift office.
While talking further he added, "We are also taking help from NGO and school teachers for the work in which they will distribute the form and issue the certificates. We will try to issue the certificate on the same day if the person is having all his documents but if not possible then we will arrange the camp after few days in that particular school to issue the certificate."
Akriti Priyadarshini, an MBA student said, "It's good to hear that our certificate will come through post to our door step and the best part is that it is a very valuable document for us." Many other e-Maha Seva Kendra known as (Setu) are all set to distribute forms which will be issued by Citizens' Facilitation Centre (CFC)
