Etiquettes for auto drivers

About 20,000 auto rickshaw drivers plying in the city are now ready for an image makeover. The Samasta Haryana auto rickshaw union in a meeting decided to implement eleven steps to improve their reputation among the auto commuters. These steps would include small things that would make bigger impact.
President of the union Vasudev Aheriya said, "Auto rickshaw drivers are always looked down as persons who abuse and create ruckus on the road but from now onwards we would try to change this image. The issues have been circulated to the drivers and we would make sure that they follow these guidelines for creating a better environment for themselves as well as the people plying through this mode of transport. The cases of drinking and driving by the auto drivers are also on the rise and we hope this would also be checked under this new initiative."
Meanwhile, people who use this mode of transport are happy with this news. Ankita Singh, a college student who travels to her college by auto said, "Many-a-time the autos misbehave and even start fighting with the commuters regarding the charges. I hope that now they don't do such things with us anymore."

•    Do not drink and drive
•    Discount for disabled and create space for seating them properly
•    Discount for widows of martyrs
•    Make ample space for seating senior citizens
•    Behave politely with the commuters
•    To pick up and drop the commuters at the proper stands allotted by the authority
•    Rush the accident victims to the hospital
•    Deposit the articles left by the commuters in the nearest police station against a receipt
•    To spread the message of family planning by applying posters and messages on back of the auto
•    Not to overcharge the commuters
•    Contribute some bucks for the marriage of poor girls
