The insulation tape of electric wire at 11th Cross is withering away, which may lead to wires touching each other resulting in short-circuit. The wire is located next to a compound and so the residents there are not free from danger. It is feared that children may come into contact with the live wire while playing or exploring their surroundings.
Anasuya, a resident, said: "It is very dangerous and something should be done by BESCOM and insulate this exposed wire as many children are plying on this road. If it is not insulated, then danger is always there."
Keedarnath, another resident, also felt that the danger arising from the exposed wire might be grave if it is not attended to by the authorities.
Danger is always lurking when the electric wires are exposed, especially in the residential area. The authorities have insulated the wires but in course of time, the tape may lose strength and, therefore, further re insulation of all the exposed wires needs to be taken up.
