The Jagat Farm market has been losing its sheen due to garbage problem.

If one asks any resident of Greater Noida about the hottest destination for shopping, the answer would be Jagat Farm. The condition of the market, however, tells a different story.
Garbage, which can be seen everywhere spoilt the look of the area. This market, which is one of the oldest markets of Greater Noida, is full of shops, hotels and roadside vendors. A large number of people can be seen here at any time of the day. Some come for shopping, while some for having lunch or dinner. And all hope for some respite from the garbage problem.
As there is not even a single dustbin in the area, the market is slowly turning into a garbage dump.
Call it authorities' negligence or residents' fault, everyone throws garbage anywhere and everywhere.
Vijay Malhotra, a mobile shop owner said, "People don't have an option. When there is no dustbin, where will they throw garbage?"
Workers of authority come after every two or three days to collect the garbage. "Most of the garbage is of the roadside small restaurants or people who come for shopping. People should not throw garbage in the market. It creates an unhygienic atmosphere and poses health hazard," said Vinod Jain, a businessman.
This has also led to parking problem in the area as people park their vehicles on road avoiding garbage which lies scattered in the parking area. As the roads are very narrow, this hampers smooth flow of traffic and leads to chaos.
"The area is becoming chaotic day by day. Authorities should do something to solve all these problems. If all these things continue, people will ignore visiting this market which will affect the business of the shopkeepers here," said Keshu Bhai Patel, a visitor.
"We will enquire about the problems in the market and do the needful," said CP Singh, senior manager, Division 3.
