Noida Authority on February 8 demolished a market, which had spread in an area of nearly 40 acres in Sector 67, Noida. A junior engineer has been suspended and a case has been registered against 16 people at Sector 58 police station. Four people have also been arrested for the same.
 The anti-encroachment cell of the Noida Authority along with the district police led by CEO, deputy CEO and administrative officer removed unauthorised occupation. A dozen bulldozers demolished 'illegal' shops that had been constructed in the sector.
Capt SK Dwivedi, CEO, Noida Authority said, "The land mafia has been very active and several persons had constructed pucca structures on authority land. This land is worth Rs 1,000 crore and was earmarked for warehousing."
"We will not tolerate any encroachments in the city and no one will be spared," he added.
