Green belts always provide a soothing effect but not for the residents of Gamma I and II.
In the name of green belt, there is only soil and some burnt grass. This not only gives a bad look to the area but also makes a mockery of the whole concept of green belt.
Most of the reserved green belt areas in Gamma I and II are just vacant lands where some wild shrubs and grass can be seen at the most. These have also become a safe haven for rats and snakes. However, most of these grass is burnt creating problems for the residents.
Residents are upset over the issue and have registered several complaints but to no avail. "We want a
proper green belt with trees and beautiful flowers by the road side. When the authority has marked a lot of space for green belt why don't they develop it properly?" Manoj Prakash, a resident of Gamma II.
Another resident Salini Singh said, "At night, it looks like a set of a horror film. It is very dangerous for kids as they don't listen and sometimes go in these green belts where snakes and other dangerous creatures dwell. Authorities should develop these green belts at the earliest."
Aarti Sharma, another resident said, "Sometime back, the plantation work had started but due to negligence and lack of proper care, everything got ruined."
Another commuter Shadab Hussain said, "The condition of the green belts here has not changed for a long time. I hope Greater Noida Authority will soon look into this matter."
