I don't want any publicity. All I want to do is rid the problem of backache. I would like to have a back ache free world. Give me a person suffering from back problems and I will cure him. I know personally how painful they are," says 81-year-old SM Acharya, who, during his professional executive career with the Government of Maharashtra, suffered frequent attacks of back pain for 40 years. They could not be cured by any doctor in India and abroad.
Deciding to take matters in his own hands, by God's grace, he developed simple exercises for the spine that cured his chronic back pain and also improved his health and wellness. Having suffered for so long, he felt he should help others and started by helping friends and relatives.
"When more and more people started flocking to me for help, I started holding free demo-cum-cure camps in Pune and all other places that I happened to visit including Mumbai, Bhopal, Delhi, USA and UK," says Archarya, who handled the Cooperative Sugar Factories as a director and was promoted as Joint Registrar of Cooperatives, Marathwada Division and went on to become the Managing Director of Maharashtra State Cooperative Sugar Factories Federation.
He has helped more than 40,000 patients through free camps or otherwise. A website was also started so that more and more people get cured worldwide. To make doubly sure that future generations are also benefitted, Acharya has also published a book for the same.
The Nature Cure Cell was specifically started to organise weekly and fortnightly free cure camps regularly and has been doing so for more than a decade now. The exercises under the therapy are simple and can be completed in three minutes and appear to activate the various yogic charkas effortlessly. They can be easily practised by any one from the age of two to the ripe old age of 100 and beyond. One has to just rest in bed and move one's hands and feet just as a two-month old baby does instinctively.
