Akshardham Apartments, Sector 19, Pocket 3 has been seeking civic amenities for years but residents allege neither the DDA nor the MCD is concerned about their problems.
Residents say that all the drains of the society are choked. Regular sweeping is not done while the parks are in complete neglected state.
President of RWA, AK Yadav said, "Ours is the oldest and the biggest society in Dwarka where there are 1022 flats. We have been neglected by both MCD and DDA. Garbage is all scattered on the roads. All the water drains have been in choked state for years with damaged or missing covers."
Vice president of the society Vimmi Madho said that all the parks have gone dry. There is only one big park in the area, which is in a deserted condition. The equipments are in damaged state. "Swings are broken and
land is deserted. We have complained about it to the department concerned but nothing is being done." A vacant land has been earmarked for the community centre of the pocket but still the land is vacant. "We are compelled to organise community festivals on the roads. Though there is space for it, and we have given money during allotment, we are still deprived of a community hall. We had filed an RTI but could not get a satisfactory answer about the present status of the land."
Area councillor and member of DDA Development Committee Rajesh Gehlot said, "Developmental works are going on in the city and so the pocket will be developed on the civic front."
