New Aadhar centre opened

Yet another Aadhaar card registration centre was inaugurated by MLA Vijayakumar and MN Vidyashankar, Principal Secretary to Government, Department of IT BT S&T and e-governance, at the Byrasandra Ward Office on Saturday. At this centre, there are six counters with one special counter for senior citizens and physically challenged and for those who cannot use the stairs to go to the other countres on the first floor of the ward office.
The LIC Colony RWA members have taken the responsibility of the registration process as a helping hand to Corporator Nagaraju.
Speaking on the occasion, Vijayakumar said "The process is good and fast. I thank and congratulate the IT & BT Department for the good job they have done by installing the system here and making it available for the public. It is very unique and is the need of the hour. This will also help to eliminate social elements and infiltrators."
Vidhyashankar said: "This is a very important identity card for people and we have chosen this centre for this purpose. This is for their convenience, as we do not want them to wait for long to avail of the all-important unique Aadhaar card."
Speaking to Cityplus, Corporator Nagaraju said: "This centre has been opened to help not only the people of Jayanagar but all the citizens of Bangalore. They can submit any identfication proof to avail of the Aadhaar card free of cost. Through this procedure we can make our country corruption-free, as the Aadhaar card utilises the most sophisticated and latest way to map one's identity. We want the residents to make full use of this facility."
 Asked how long the residents can avail of the facility, Nagaraju said: "We have initially opened it for two weeks. If we get more people, then we will extend the date as per requirement."
"Opening of more centres is on the cards and we are also looking out for a permanent center," he added.

Aadhaar initiative
After understanding the difficulties faced by citizens of Jayanagar to obtain the Aadhaar Unique Identification  Number Registration from the Head Post Office, Jayanagar 4th Block, which was the only one counter that has been designated and arranged for the entire Jayanagar constituency to issue Aadhaar to citizens by Central Government, Corporator N Nagaraju took the initiative in the interests of the citizens of Jayanagar
 under the guidance of MLA B N Vijayakumar to provide and facilitate Unique Identification Number for all the eligible citizens and residents of Jayanagar.
Hence this Aadhaar centre has been opened at the Corporator's office No.100, 22nd Cross, 11th Main, 3rd Block, Jayanagar, with contact phone No.08026534888. It will function from Saturday between 8 am and 8 pm, including Sundays.
The Corporator has also arranged to distribute the applicate forms to the all the residents in his ward along with a brochure containing the details about the importance of Aadhaar Unique Identification Number for citizens for future reference and correspondence.
Filled application forms with supported documents can be submitted at the registration centre to obtain the card.
