For two long months, 84-year-old Shrinivas Gujar and his wife, residents of Kedari road in Camp, had to live amidst drainage water
With the filthy water overflowing in the entire area, the couple was forced to survive the horrible stench being emanated, rendered helpless by the water pipeline work in progress.
Upon visiting the spot, the Dainik Jagran Cityplus team contacted the authorities to expedite the issue. Much to the delight of Shrinivas and his wife, the problem now stands resolved.
"I really want to thank you for your intervention. It had been quite a while since the issue came to the fore yet, there was no sign of oncoming help," said Shekhar Gujar, who stays in the house. "It feels so good that everything's back to normal. We can now live in peace. I am very happy now!" exclaimed Shrinivas Gujar.
Detailing the progress of work, Ashish Kudale, MNS leader, said, "I was taken aback upon witnessing their miserable condition. I'd approached the Pune Cantonment Board a number of times but nobody had bothered looking into the matter."
"Now we do not have to suffer from the terrible stink anymore. It did take a while, but I'm glad everything's okay now," added Shrinivas.
