Residents in particular and the public in general are put to great inconvenience as there are no footpaths on either side of Double Road in Indiranagar. The road is always jam-packed with no free movement of traffic. The vehicles of the shoppers and the residents are parked in front of their shops and houses respectively.
And since there is no footpath, people have to walk on the road. Especially the senior citizens are forced to use the side road for walking.  This results in accidents. A couple of times on the road people have met with some minor accidents. So residents want the authorities to provide a footpath so that people can easily move on it and avoid serious accidents in future. And the authorities should take the issue seriously. In the evening after 6 pm people can't walk on the road as there will be a lot of traffic, so people have to suffer a lot.
Surendran, a resident of Double Road, said: "People have met with minor accidents on this road. Laing a foot path can avoid accidents. What is required is an organized set-up which is lacking in the area."
Speaking to Cityplus, Jogupalya Corporator K Gowtham Kumar said, "Funds have been released for the Double Road footpath. After inviting the tender, work will be allocated to the contractor."
