Plethora of problems

Ask residents living near Beta II market complex their problems and they can go on and on.

In the name of basic facilities, one gets everything in Beta II market complex but in worst condition. This not only shows the careless attitude of the officials but also raises a question on the working style of the officials. Several things like public toilet, lights in parking area, drains, etc., are in pathetic state.

Public toilet
Public convenience at this complex tells the story of irregularities. If you visit this market for the first time, you will not able to locate the public toilet. If somehow you find it, you will think twice before using it. Shopkeepers of this market say that it has not been cleaned for a long time. "This is a major issue for us as well as for the visitors. The distance of the office of solid waste management of GNIDA responsible for its cleaning is not more than 500 m away," said Rajesh Sharma, a general store owner.         

Lights in parking area
Beta II market complex has 17 parking lights which surround this market, but only four or five of them work. Most of the lights are without bulbs or with fused bulbs, simply of no use. This also spoils the look of the area.

Drains
"The drains were to be covered with iron grills but now most of them are missing due to thefts. Now we are taking care of it ourselves. I have spent some amount of money in getting these grills in front of my shop," said a stationary shop owner.            
 "It's not like that we never clean this public toilet or don't want to do it, but the major problem here is the arrangement of water. We have all the facilities. We have the manpower. But the major issue is the water tanks which are not working. They all are broken," said Ankur Tyagi, supervisor, solid waste management, Greater Noida.
