Rajdhani Enclave residents now feel their wait for Piped Natural Gas (PNG) facility will not come to an end.
Their hope seems to be fading due to authorities' negligence.Sunita Sehgal, a resident of Rajdhani Enclave said, "We have been facing many problems due to the apathy of the Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) officials."
PNG is not only cheap but also convenient for residents as they do not have to book cylinders again and again. They also do not have to wait for cylinders for days. Uma Jain, a 70-year-old resident of Rajdhani Enclave said, "This is good for old people like us as gas will directly come to our homes and we won't have to wait for it."
Monica Suri, a resident of nearby Anand Vihar, where PNG has come said, "This is a 24 hours facility. Meter has been fixed and we pay, according to the meter. In two months, we just paid Rs 1000. PNG is one of the safest fuels and is the best for residents."
"When nearby areas like Anand Vihar apartments got PNG, then why the authorities are not providing this facility to us. We desperately need this facility. Authorities should do something in this regard," said Karan Thapar, a resident.
In August last year, residents of Rajdhani Enclave had complained to IGL
at their headquarters in RK Puram and the officials had promised them to get the work done by October. But nothing has been done till now.
A senior IGL official said, "There are 200-250 colonies in which work is going on. Every area has a different issue. Some have not yet got approval while some have safety issues. The process of registration in Rajdhani Enclave will start from April."
