The condition of dilapidated roads in N Block South City (I) has once again forced residents to think about the wandering priorities of Unitech Builder.
At the main entrance of N Block, one can see numerous potholes that give motorists a backbreaking ride. Needless to say, the tall claims of authorities to provide better amenities have all proven hollow as residents continued to suffer.
South City Residents Welfare Association (SCRWA) has been running from pillar to post to draw the authorities' attention towards poor condition of road. "The ongoing agitation has compelled the authorities to think over our demands. Consequently, the construction work on main roads has started. The builders have promised them to start the work on inner lanes after completion of main," said vice president of SCRWA, Sameer Tripathi.
Walking on the bad shaped road involves risk hence ladies, elders and children fear going out. Reportedly, some minor injuries cases also happened even then the authorities didn't turn up to improve the situation. "The condition of roads is really pathetic. Senior citizens can't walk alone in the lanes and by-lanes of society. We strongly demand to get it repaired as early as possible to avoid any untoward accident," said B Rajkumar, a commuter.
Estate manager, Unitech, Narendra Rohilla said, "The road carpeting work is being carried out in some part of South City. The remaining part will soon be covered and patched up."
