A few weeks ago, a heavy weight load container damaged the Foot over Bridge (FOB) at Pamposh Enclave near GK-I Enclave.  The FOB was damaged badly but the Public Works Department (PWD) has not taken any steps to repair it but has installed two banners instructing the pedestrians not to use it.
However, even the banners have been placed only at two sides of the four sided FOB. Pedestrians using this FOB, from other three sides are unaware about the risk. PWD contractor says they will repair the damage within a week but there is no sign of progress yet.
"I didn't know that the FOB is damaged, I just crossed the road through it. There is no barrier or signboard near the FOB. Who will pay if FOB falls with some people on it?" asked Meenakshi Barua, a resident of GK-I Enclave.
The RWA has also sent their request to the authority but nothing has been done so far. "Three weeks have gone and still we have not got any response. Once I called the contractor on phone but he said he is busy on some other site," informed MK Verma, RWA member GK-I Enclave.
On the other hand officials of PWD say that they are aware of the seriousness of the issue and proper action will be taken soon. Contractor AK Khan said, "The repair work is about to start. Gas cylinders, repairing machines and barriers have been sent to the site. All four entry points will be closed soon for the safety of people."
