Sarjapur is turning into a concrete jungle with real estate development happening at a very fast pace. Apartments, tech parks, schools and hospitals are coming up along the Marathalli Sarjapur road as well the Sarjapur outer ring road, leaving little breathing space for greenery.
Many trees have been cut with re-plantation hardly happening.
With summer approaching and greenery vanishing fast, residents of Sarjapur are going to have a tough time under the scorching sun.
"I think this summer we are going to face the deadly heat. It's getting tougher every year. BBMP should do something about it," said Raman a commuter. With no bus sheds, daily commuters are also going to have a horrendous time waiting under the sun, especially kids.
Residents of Sarjapur have been planting trees around the Bellandur Lake, and in front of their apartments and taking care of them. While BBMP has promised to plant trees, it remains to be
seen how far they are successful.
According to BBMP, they have been planting trees but it will take time for them to grow.
