The Park in between the 11th and 12th Main, 24th Cross Sector-7 of HSR Layout was renewed for maintenance by the authorities last month.

Though the park is in good condition, the problem is that it has no water. As a result, the plants in the park are drying up.
Some residents near the park have taken the initiative of providing water to save the plants. They cannot provide water to the whole park as they don't have that much supply and they need to keep some for their consumption too. They provide water to all the plants which will become big trees later. The residents do it turn by turn. BDA had handed over the charge of parks to BBMP in 2007. According to the residents, three bore wells have been installed in the park from time to time and unfortunately all of them ran dry. The park also has dry garbage dump on the sides.
Vishala, a resident, said: "We residents have been providing water to the plants which will later become trees. Regular supply of water is provided to the park by the residents. We want the plants to survive and not die away and that is why we have been doing this to save them."
Shobha D Rao, another resident, said: "All the garbage is dumped on the sides inside the park. At times the fire is set to the garbage dump and it is very dangerous as the electrical wires are on top. When we question the watchman of the park even he has no answer as to who has done it."
When Cityplus contacted the horticulture superintendent of BBMP, BC Anand, he said: "We have renewed the park for maintenance from last month. After taking charge of parks from the BDA, we have renewed 22 parks in HSR Layout."
He said that the water level in the area has gone down. "We have been trying and had dug up to 1187 feet but still were unable to find water. We will go for bore well drilling again and install another bore well otherwise the only option left is to purchase water tankers. Within 10 to 15 days we will sort out this problem," he added.
