Sector 62 seeks Metro Rail connectivity, community centre

After being unsuccessful in getting a positive response from the Noida Authority, the Federation of Sector 62 has sought Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati's help in order to get Metro Rail connectivity and a community centre.
Federation president S M Singh said, "There are more than 10,000 flats in Sector 62 and it has a population of more than 50,000. Besides residential apartments, the sector has hundreds of institutions. Across the NH-24 highway is Indirapuram where more than 50,000 flats have been built up. If Metro is extended till Sector 62, then it will also benefit Indirapuram residents."
"As per the earlier schedule, Metro from Sector 32 was to be extended up to Sector 62. But now, the officials have changed their priority and said that this line will be developed only after the completion of Greater Noida Metro rail project," added Singh.
"If Metro is extended from Sector 32 to Sector 62 which is just 5 km, the traffic chaos will ease and benefit a lot of residents," added Singh. The federation has also asked for a community centre in Sector 62.
Ramendra Singh, a resident of Sector 62 said, "We don't have any community centre, which can be used for social welfare work. RWA faces a lot of difficulties in operating as they have no office, which was proposed to be constructed in the community centre. Residents have requested several times but authority is not ready to take any action in this regard."
Shezad Kureshi, a resident of Sector 62 said, "Metro has become a lifeline of NCR. It has made commuting very easy. We want the authority to extend Metro from Sector 32 to Sector 62."
NP Singh, DCEO, NA said, "The problem of commuters is genuine, but we also have certain limitations. We are working on the development projects according to Master Plan. It is very difficult to make changes in it. However, we are trying our best to improve the public transport system in the city."

  • Logically the extension of Metrorail service to Sector 62 should have preceded extension to Greater NOIDA. The areas served by Greater NOIDA link will take at least 10 years to provide as much commuters as would be instantly available from Sector 62 link right now. Perhaps, considerations other than the Master Plan (viz. Influence of real estate developers to escalate the value of their property values in areas located around the Greater NOIDA link)have swayed the decision in favour of Greater NOIDA link.   • Both these DEMANDS are NEED BASED, ESSENTIAL & BEING PUT FORTH BEFORE NOIDA AUTHORITIES FOR A LONG TIME WITH OUT ANY POSITIVE RESPONSE IN SPITE OF SUBMISSION OF SIGNED MEMORENDUM BY ALMOST 10,000 SECTOR RESIDENTS of it's Various Societies & VARIOUS MEETINGS OF FEDERATION OFFICE BEARERS WITH NOIDA OFFICIALS.It seems Govt.Officials / So Called Public Representatives NEED AN ANNA HAZARE OF SECTOR-62 to AWAKEN THEM from their DEEP SLUMBER, LETHARGY & ESCAPISM/ PASSING THE BUCK ATTITUDE. The argument of CERTAIN LIMITATIONS in MASTER PLAN changing is SIMPLY AN ALIBI.When Indian Constitution can be changed so many times in LARGER INTERESTS of Country Men, then what is Metro Master Plan ?   • Is there any person who does not want the comfort at the doorstep? Metro will benefit the residents as well as the thousand of people visiting Fortis and Community Centre will also help the residents for performing different occasions in a comfortable way.   • Metro to Sector 62 in Noida is inaveitable as in Phase-IV route via NH24 to AIIMS is to be built. Noida Authority is just delaying and giving priority to Greater Noida route which is passing through un-habitated sectors on the behest of politicians & builders and also to increase the price of land coming on the metro route to provide gains to some vested intrest. On the other hand un authorised 3 wheelers are carrying the load of Indrapuram & sector 62 to metro station at sector 62.   • It would save a lot of time and money for the masses. As we move towards a greener tomorrow, the connectivity to Sec 62 provide lot of relief to the environment as well as i believe thousands of people commute by their own cars as they do not have any other better option thereby burning tonnes of fuel every day every hour...!! The move is very importnat as sec 62 is the connectivity point for people residing in indirapuram.., ghaziabad, and adjacent areas.   • I think the Indian Govt. authorities listen only, i repeat, only to "Anna" like "Anti-Corruption" campaigns (BTW, i am more against people who feed corruption for their own convenience and pollute the system). Publishing in papers, organising meetings and requesting officers of the level of DM/CEO etc. are really a wster of time and effort, though that is how all things start (that way, it will take 42+ years!!!) .   • sector 62 being a mixture of residential,educational,commercial and institutional area apart from hosting a very big hospital where every day thousands of patients are visiting for their medical needs,the noida authority should have taken the METRO LINK in their MASTER PLAN instead of residents requesting for it.   • Sector-62 encompasses many residential societies and urban villages. Residents stand to benefit immensely if the Metro Rail is extended now. Postponement would result in cost escalation and waste of time, effort and finances of prospective users.   • I firmly feel that no one is having any doubt about necessity/requirement of metro connectivity upto sec 62 noida and community centre in 62 sec & NA also shares that its required. they are very much essential and is going to help thousands of residents/people working in sec 62 . we all urge NA to take necessary corrective / constructive action immediately so as to help all residents / people working in the sector. It will also reduce air & noise pollution level as well as load on roads and save time / make travel more comfortable for all commuters.   • Putting Greater Noida metrolink in fast track and delaying 62 link (which is much easy from the point of cost, time and a graeter ridership compared to G Noida) shows only how clever is Noida Authority. I assume it is the pressure from Builder lobby whose sole aim is to sell flats at highest premium, have pushed ahead the G Noida project so that vast vacant lands between Noida G noida can fetch higher land price for the benifit of both Noida Authority and and builders. Analysing the current scenario it is obvious that the raised demand is very geniune and authentic.   • Extension of metro link to sector 62 will not only benefit to 50K residents of sector 62, it will add revenue to metro rail also. This will further add to decongest the road traffic.   • Life is hell for residentds of Sector-62 in the peak hours(i.e.Morning/Evening hours).From Sec-61 to Sect-62 Police Chauki path remains chauke because total traffic to Gaziabad, Mohannagar, Indrapuram from Noida, Delhi, Faridabad, Gurgaon. To make life of Sec-62 residents liveable Pl. consider Metro connectivity to Sec-62 & community centre on top priority. Remrmber Noida is Township for transforming of lives.
