Sewer water problem escalates for the residents of Roseland Residency where filthy water enters houses.
Despite the written complaint made to health department of ward office (D), PCMC, by residents of the society a month ago, it seems the officers have not taken the issues seriously. However, cleaning staff inspected the blocked sites of drain line but the problem escalated for residents in row houses here. Sewer water has flooded into these houses.
A resident of row house of the society, Anil Deshpande said, "We took up the issue with V L Chavan, Sanitary Inspector, ward office (D) on January 27and handed over the complaint letter to him. He assured us that sewage line will be cleaned. But staff visiting the site has not done it completely and the problem has recurred. The sewer water has entered my house as there is blockage between Nisarga Nirman and Roseland Residency where dirty water is currently stored in open spaces."
Dirty water flooding into row houses is not a new issue here as the residents have already suffered a lot. Used water of 167 row houses leads to frequent blockage of sewerage chamber passing by the drain line which is connected to Roseland Rhythm society, residents complain.
Another resident of the society, Rajesh Pandey said, "We have approached all but none of them have paid heed to our complaints. The water flooding in the houses has caused health issues and has become a mosquito breeding spot. We have been suffering due to frequent blockage since long. But recently the problem has escalated. Sewerage lines of other societies are also connected."
When contacted to V L Chavan, Health Officer, Ward Office (D), PCMC, said, "After receiving the complaint, we have cleaned the blocked sewerage chambers and also did oil spraying on the sites. But there should be a permanent solution to the problem for which we need support from civil and drainage departments too."
Another officer, R M Saudai, Sight Inspector pointed out that currently, the drainage chamber near Datta Mandir, Pimple Saudagar is choked. "We will inform the contractor and get it cleaned. The chamber will be cleared within days," he assured.
