"I had been noticing skating competitions on TV and when I tried the same, I honestly loved it. Roller skating is absolute fun," said 10-year-old Aryan Arora.
A resident of Sahibabad, the kid has a lot of plans in roller skating. Aryan has bagged six medals till now in roller skating and is ready for more. At the national level CBSE east zone skating championship, he won second position. Apart from this, he keeps on participating and winning inter-school competitions and state level championships. He has also tried roller hockey competitions which have only led him to perfection.
A gentle kid
A student of Jaipuria School, Vasundhara, Aryan is a gentle kid. A friendly and an innocent kid at heart, he is a jolly human being who has a bright future in sports. "I got acquainted with this game when I was just four-year-old and liked the sport so much that I practised it for three years. And then, I took a break for some other activities but I eventually realised that this sport was my only love. So, I started roller skating again a few months back and I am planning to build my career in this. I recommend that one must try this game in life."
He said, "Roller skating is fun and the most exciting thing about it is that it is sheer balancing. Balancing yourself is the most important thing that you must learn from this sport and that is how I learnt how to balance things in life."
It was his parents who motivated him to go to the skating classes at Holy Angel School, Sahibabad. Gradually, he learnt the tactics of roller skating then and now, he is sharpening his skills in inline skating.
"I devote two hours daily to practise the game under the guidance of a skating coach at Holy Angel School near my house. Without my parents, school and coach's constant support and encouragement, I couldn't have achieved anything. I am thankful to all for their guidance and motivation," Aryan said.
Family
Aryan's mother Manu Arora is a housewife and father Praveen Arora is a businessman. "I have got a lot of support from my family. They never discourage me to attend any sports event," said Aryan.
His mother Manu Arora said, "He is a much disciplined kid and knows how to balance his studies and skating. His balance is a remarkable thing that needs to be appreciated. He is pretty good in studies as well. I will encourage him at every step."
Cricket and skating
For Aryan, skating and cricket go hand in hand. "I like cricket and admire this game after skating. I like a lot of things about cricket and roller skating and I love to do both simultaneously. I adore Sachin Tendulkar the most. I like his batting style and want to be a perfectionist like him," said Arora.
