Banjara Hills Corporator turns a blind eye to residents' problems.

Residents of Banjara Hills have been repeatedly complaining about the  languorous attitude of the Banjara Hills Corporator B Bharati, towards community issues. From Zehra Nagar, Kimti Enclave to Banjara Hills road number(s) 1-14, various Resident Welfare Associations keep complaining that the Corporator pays no heed to their complaints and is often unavailable on phone and at home when people call upon her for their civic problems.
Cityplus accompanied the residents of Annapoorna Apartments, with their grievances and visited the residence-cum-office of the Corporator, only to find the office latched during office hours. "We try hard to contact her on phone, mostly the phone is handed over to her husband. He assures us of action but nothing is done," said Ramesh Babu, a resident.
There have also been instances when the Corporator was at home, but residents were told that she was out, after being made to wait.
What is ironical is that though a number of residential colonies have been asking for street lights as they suffer in the dark, without any succour, the Corporator's house is all lit up with not one but two street lights right outside the compound. Not only this, water from the roadside drinking water tank right next to her office was seen overflowing with no one to check wastage due to the faulty tap.
"She apparently has the support of some senior ministers, which is why she can afford to take her job lightly. They are only into vote bank politics," retorted Suman, another resident.
It's time that the Corporator wakes up and starts responding to the problems of the people. “A Corporator is supposed to be there for the citizens and help them out when they need him or her the most,” said Ramya, a resident. Clearly, the Banjara Hills Corporator doesn't seem to fit this category.  The only question is - is anyone listening?
