Sudha Durg, a resident of Jeevan Kendra Layout, Cambridge Road, organised a camp for Aadhar Card at her residence for her neighbours on September 23 and 24. She is a member of Sneha Vrunda Mahila Samaja. The 67-year-old lady organised the camp through the Mahila Samaja. Other members also helped her at the camp. Sudha Durg said: "The Mahila Samaja has completed 10 years of existence and has done many improvements in the area, the last one being the camp for voter ID."
As many people in this area are senior citizen and for them going to the Aadhar Card centre and standing in long queue is very difficult, she has arranged the camp in her area for the residents' convenience. One hundred people attended the camp on September 23 and 250 people on September 24. They filled the form for Aadhar Card. "The card will reach them within two months at their residence by post," she said.
"She personally went to each house and announced about this camp. She is a very active and helpful person," said Seema Gudi.
Rekha N, a resident, said: "This type of thing happening in our locality is very good and motivated. It has helped aged people. This is a well-organised camp and gone in smooth way".
"It was very kind of her to arrange this camp. She has been organising this type of camp which is very helpful to residents," said Prabha Vyas, another resident.
