Unsafe balconies

If you notice the apartments in Bangalore properly, most of these are designed well.  But in making the apartment complexes stylish one, people have ignored to make the balconies in the houses safe for children.
There are many apartments in Sarjapur, but you can see that the balconies in most of these apartments are not child-friendly. These are designed very low which is dangerous for the kids. "I was so scared to leave my children in the balcony as these were low. So, I have put a fence of wires in my balcony so that my kids are safe", said Neeta.
In order to avoid children from going to the balconies, terrace gardening is done in most of the apartments in Sarjapur. Even after fatal incidences of unsafe balconies, builders in the city are not giving proper attention to this.  Builders need to pay attention of safety factors for kids while designing their balconies. But in reality, in order to make it stylish, the most important thing like safety is ignored. 
"I have placed big tin sheets in the balcony to fill up the huge gaps in between railings. As my son is in a growing stage and keeps on running around the house, I have done this on my own as a safety measure", said Aman. There are also apartments in Sarjapur, where there are no balconies in the apartments.  So, child-safe and proper balconies are the need of the hour in Sarjapur area.
