The Chief Electoral Officer of Karnataka has published the updated voters' list for Bangalore. The same information can be obtained online at <http://164.100.80.163/ceokarnataka/>
Follow the link marked "Search your name in Final Electoral Rolls as on 01.01.2012". You can choose between searching with EPIC number (Election Photo ID Card) and searching by name. The name search is more unreliable, because the spellings have been distorted in many cases.
If your name is not on the rolls and would like to apply, you should fill Form 6. It is available at the same site. You can fill it online and submit or you can submit a filled-in copy and submit it at the BBMP Ward Office in Koramangala 5th Block on or before February 29. For those living in Koramangala 3rd Block, the 3rd Block Residents' Welfare Association is helping out. So you can submit at the library in 3rd Block Park on or before February 29.
If your name is in the rolls but particulars are wrong, then Form 8 needs to be filled.
If any name is to be deleted on the rolls, Form 7 is to be filled.
"Voting is our common civic duty. Request all of you to take a few moments to check the rolls and verify once again," said Nitin, Secretary of 3rd Block RWA.
Also the photocopies of the electoral rolls for 3rd Block have been placed at the library. You can take the time to come by and check whether your name is on the rolls and whether your photo appearing on the rolls tallies.
Those living in other areas can visit their respective ward offices or check online. At the Citizens' Portal for online submission of form you can get include/ delete/ modify/ transposition.
Some instructions for new users: Internet citizen's portal has been done to facilitate citizens to submit Form-6 (Inclusion), Form-7 (Deletion), Form-8 (Modification) and Form-8A (Transposition) online. You need to first register yourself in the citizens' portal to enable you to get your username and password for your online submission. To create your account, click on register.
