Work for a cleaner Deccan

Model Colony Parisar Sudharna Samitee (MCPSS) has come up with 'Aple Ghar - Apla Parisar' project to tackle garbage woes.
The project primarily aims at maintaining cleanliness in the area. "We are not only aiming towards cleanliness but other aspects such as encroachment and illegal activities elimination and many more issues that make the area dirty. Residents can highlight such instances and bring them to our notice," said Neelima Mysore, president of Model Colony Parisar Sudharna Samitee.
Recently, MCPSS celebrated its 20th anniversary, headlining the occasion with the 'Aple Ghar - Apla Parisar (Your environment is your home)' project, another step towards the betterment of the area. "As per the project outline, residents have to describe the nature of the problem by filling the form available at the MCPSS office and submit the same. We will highlight these issues at a public forum such as the monthly ward office meetings and try to get them resolved."
The project was set in motion on January 26, 2012, and will continue until January 26, 2013.
Explaining the project rationale further, Mysore said, "We always keep our home clean, so why neglect our area? Keeping a watch on the entire neighborhood might be a tall order, but one can easily survey one's immediate surroundings. If residents regularly keep a vigil in their respective areas, we will be able to resolve most issues." The campaign also allows residents to highlight what the area needs. The lack of amenities such as streetlights can be brought to the authorities' notice through the initiative.
